Countdown

Ooh, just counting down the days now until our new "baby" arrives.

No, I am most definitely not pregnant as yet. We are expecting some wheels though, as my work now entails a lot of client meetings and such, so one car certainly is not enough to get things done faster.

The new car is on novated lease though, and not on your usual car loan plan. It is much cheaper as it saves us heaps from taxes. However, we are required to travel at least 15,000 Kms a year. This spells out lots of road trips in the coming months for us. How I wish Nevada was nearby and we could put Vegas vacations on our itinerary. I guess we will have to make do with what have here down under in the meantime, but I am so looking forward to more local travels soon! I am pretty sure it'll still be a blast nevertheless. :)

Somebody thought of me!

Chris of Mommy Journey thought I deserved this. It certainly made my day a bit brighter, after having to put up again with colon cleanse reviews. Thanks Chris! :)

Tempting

Can you believe this chocolate mousse cake has 8 different layers within it? Well, it does! This was what the amateur chefs on Masterchef Australia had to recreate for the finals' week pressure test.

I reckon if I had been a chef, I would get bigger and bigger from eating all that yummy food. And I don't suppose that any of the best diet pills in the world can help me stay in shape. So yeah, if I look at it that way, I am glad I am not a chef! :)

Consequences

I finally had the chance to get out on my own to attend a couple of appointments during work. But they were all short distances from the office, so I decided to take the car out last Saturday to do the weekly grocery shopping A-L-O-N-E. Yes, I drove the car by myself to the mall. It felt like I was in Manila again -- very independent!!! :)

With me having more and more confidence in my driving skills each day, I reckon I might be taking less and less walks as a result. Does that mean I will have to turn to ephedrine to keep my weight in check? I don't know. I absolutely do not know how this will affect it, but I hope the stress that I get from work is enough to keep it at bay.

Skin woes

I rarely get acne. But when I do, they are really huge, which really annoys me to no end. I have tried a few creams here and there. Some work, some don't. Right now, I have no remedy for my zits and I am close to considering acne pills as a solution. I reckon the culprit is that I am wearing makeup on a regular basis now for work, which was a practice I never did observe before. So I guess my skin is screaming now "Give me a break!" It seems like I have to be more diligent in my skin regimen so I don't get anymore of them bothersome zits.

Thanks to the Internet

It's amazing how the internet works. Just recently, an uncle sent me a message introducing himself to me as a cousin of my father. I have never heard of him before so it came as a surprise when he gave me all this information about how we were related. He is actually in the same boat as I am, trying to connect with all relatives and hopefully put up a webpage. I, on the other hand, have started the egroup for my mother's side of relatives and I've managed to get into Tribal Pages and Facebook and what other social networking sites. So yeah, the internet is good in that sense because it enables us to connect to friends and long lost relatives.
