Wardrobe Opp

I can (sort of) feel Autumn finally coming. We've had showers since last night, so it could be a sign of the change of season. But then again, it could be nothing. We've had several occasions where I did think Autumn has come to our part of the world, only to find out a few days after that we were back again to the high 20's.

The coming in of a new season can always be exciting because it gives us a chance to dress up differently again. One of the few things that has me looking forward to the cooler months is that I will be able to wear my lovely boots once again. I only had the chance to wear them once last year, so hopefully this time around, it will be more than that. So please Mother Nature, bring the cool months on!

Massive Challenge

Life in countries where we cannot afford a cleaner and/or nanny can be quite tough. It's not for everyone, especially for those who have been used to the comforts of life, and are not willing to be flexible to do whatever they can to survive. Yes, I've heard of a story or two of families migrating here and were unable to cope with this major adjustment, and had to return to their homeland in the end. Unfortunately, they wanted an easy fix and did not want to go through the hardships of starting at the very bottom in a foreign land. I reckon, it doesn't matter what job it is for as long as you are making an honest living. Besides, that is only temporary and if you are hardworking, surely you will make your way to the top with your perseverance. Looking for jobs in New York or wherever is one thing, but being able to maintain it is a whole different story. Therein lies the massive challenge!

Amazing turn-around

I recently saw the make-over episode on The Biggest Loser last week. And it is just amazing how dedication and determination has produced such amazing results which were evident in the contestants' new look. They really did look fabulous in their new hairstyles and clothes -- so much unlike the state they were in the earlier days of the show. Exercise is a great muscle builder, so I guess, although there could be some amount of loose skin there, they've managed to tone up their bodies in the process. Truly admirable!

Big Decision

After getting notices from the hospital that he is next in line for surgery, hubby has given it much thought (not sure if he's read up on colonix reviews or anything) to, in the end, decide to not go through with it. His tummy pains has long ceased and he believes that if it was anything serious, the pain would have recurred after that fateful incident in August last year. Well, let's hope it really wasn't anything, and that his decision to not proceed with the operation is a good one.

The Party That Was

Did I ever get the chance to say that we gave Erin a great birthday bash at her daycare? Well, we did that last Friday, and it was a smashing hit. While we were unable to get the little ones (as in kids ranging from 1 to 4 years) to actually join in on the games, they certainly had an awesome time eating the usual spaghetti and cake (yes, you can forget about slimquick reviews), not to mention when balloons and loot bags were being distributed at the end of the party. They're quite easy to please really. But I guess seeing my little girl having the time of her life with her so-called friends is enough to bring us joy.

Blah!

Oh dear, I don't think I am going anywhere with my plans for keeping my rather health appetite at bay. Last night alone, I knew I had gone over the limit by eating more than my usual one-cup-of-rice diet. Honestly, I am on the verge of using appetite suppressants. But I am not giving up just that easily. Each new day is a chance for me to start anew and to reassess what I really want. I just hope I will be able to stick to it. I reckon it seems really difficult to be able to keep to your weight after you've had kids. Your poor body seems to just go blahhhh! :P

Back with a vengeance

Yes, unfortunately, the tummy is back with a vengeance! No kidding. I could probably blame it on the hormones (that time of the month, you see), but ultimately I think it is still up to me to control these urges. LOL! So easy to say, but terribly difficult to do! And so my mind is now racing for ideas to get rid of the excess baggage. From fat burner soups to intensive exercise programs, there are heaps to get involved in. Now the only problem that remains is what to pick and do?

Happy for friends

Well, another friend of ours has announced that they are expecting their first born late this year. I reckon every one of us has prayed for this for the longest time as they have been waiting for literally 10 years. I would expect not just Swisher Sweets being given out to friends and family, but also the grandest of celebrations, that is, an extravaganza of parties. I cannot blame them. I mean, if I were in their shoes, I would be celebrating in the same way, if not more. I certainly hope that this will not be the first and last for them, but the start of many more children to come.

The Alice in Me

I thought I'd take this random meme to take a break from reading on mesothelioma survival rate.

You Are Alice

You are curious, brave, and inquisitive. You can't help but be interested in the world around you. You are a bit of a loner and a total daydreamer. Your inner world is very colorful and vivid. At times, your real life seems dull and completely unbearable. You wish you could escape to a whole other world. While you have a wild spirit, you are quite gentle and polite. You tend to observe more than act - and you tread lightly.

I can absolutely confirm the part on daydreaming. Yes, my mind is bursting with what-if scenarios and flashbacks from the past. I do tend to think quite a lot, and it does provide a sort of escape from the humdrums of everyday life.

On Further Studies

I have a couple of classmates from high school who are now successful lawyers in their own rights. I, for one, would never consider to be a lawyer. But I have respect for those who have studied diligently and have reviewed during lsat prep courses to get the credentials that some people are envious of. Gosh, just thinking of completing all those readings is enough to make my head spin, so I truly commend all those who have surpassed their exams and have made it to the top.

As for me, I'm done with any sort of degree, at least at this stage. I guess I got burnt out a long time ago from all the demands in school, that I reckon I won't have any patience to complete anything at this time.

Randomness

What's a person to do if she or he is confronted with a question like "have you compared life insurance quotes?" Nothing really.

I know, the question is pretty random. I guess my brain has really stopped working as of now as I seem to be not making a whole lot of sense with all this blabber.

Anyway, the weekend is almost upon us, and I cannot wait to have a break from work to once again recharge myself. Having gone away the entire previous weekend has left me still quite tired and I have yet to catch up on other pending chores which does not make it any easier. *sigh*

Toilet pressure

*sigh* It is still an uphill battle with the little girl when it comes to toilet training. She simply won't do a poo in the loo. We have been successful so far with her wee, but when it comes to poo, it is a different story. This is more pronounced when she is at daycare, because she simply won't go there without her nappy, when in fact, here at home, she can be without it for an entire day. I reckon that it could be psychological, or maybe the Toto toilets themselves are something she has to be familiar with. I don't know really. But we better figure it out fast because she won't be admitted to preschool next year if she is not fully trained! Talk about pressure! :(

Shopping mishaps

Don't get me wrong. I love shopping. But when you are stuck with a long line at the check out, you just want to go for those DIY lanes, which are sometimes much shorter. I reckon it is okay for most of the time. But if I get any hassles like when the barcode scanner can't read an item's barcode, it just isn't worth it. You end up seeking assistance from the shop assistant, which makes you regret for not having checked out via the regular ones. So yes you are stuck, and that takes out all the fun in shopping.

Hectic

I can't believe we are down to the last month of the first quarter of the year. Where did all the time go?!? And as it is the month of our special days, I reckon it will be even more hectic and crazier! Apart from all the celebrations, we are also heading out to the coast for a much needed break. So yeah, I must remember to start organising our stuff, and make a list of all the essentials (including the handy box cutter). I am oh so pretty excited! :D
